I’m really anxious about writing this post. Mainly because I have NO IDEA where to start. I hadn’t even planned to go to Cybermummy; with other events coming up I wasn’t sure I could afford it. So when I won a ticket thanks to Family Holidays, I got pretty excited about the opportunity to meet people I’ve wanted to meet for AGES.
I have no idea how to sum up the day – no – WEEKEND into words. Up at 4:00 am on Saturday morning (I couldn’t sleep) and was up and on the move non-stop for nearly 24 hours. Up again at 6am and bed by midnight. I had taken over 400 photos and have whipped it down to about 300 now; I started editing on the train before I even got home.
The whole place was buzzing, and if I’m honest I was wary about “fitting in” as a “mommy blogger”, whatever one of those is. But I swear to God, every one was awesome. So many people came up to me and said hello, that by about 11am, I was already losing track of who I’d spoken to. Which was ok, because I have business cards coming out my ears, about a thousand blogs to read and a shit load of people to say hi to on twitter. Thank you to EVERYONE who came to say hello to me; it was great to meet each and every one of you. So many of you.
Omg.
So, to sum up the day? Awesome. Lots of talking, chattering, running around taking photos, really interesting talks from panels, shit loads of cake (I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much cake and some of it was better than sex), hugs, tears and laughter every where you looked, kebabs, men with large equipment, MacBooks and Laptops, licking, wine, beer, barmen, Marco, old man nipples, breastpads of awesome, bacon, pub quizzes, Careless Whisper and much, MUCH more. And not necessarily in that order, either.
And just looking back at that list, you can see that there’s no way I can sum it all up in one post.
It’s possible I may have said “cock” in an impromptu thank you speech to the fucking awesome organisers Sian, Suzanna and Jennifer. Apparently half of twitter is willing to confirm this.
Even with BlogHer 10 around the corner now, I’m still over-excited about Cybermummy and hoping to God that I can make it next year. I’ll only post a few pics here because hello? 300 pics? Heh. What did I get out of it all? Well I made friends. REAL friends. I understand a little more about my blogging. I got cake, wine and bacon (fuck yeah!). I discovered people who I wish I’d know years ago. I got one of my images used by Asda, taken and used on the same day. I got even more support and inspiration to set up my photography “how-to” blog. I got babywipes, and more importantly, a stash of breast pads coming my way shortly (trust me on this one).
I am ALREADY stupidly excited for next year.

Wow, I cannot believe you managed to tweet all that as well as take loads of photos! I have been a bit rubbish and not done my proper cybermummy post yet – been busy editing a video of my boy helping me make some of those flapjacks and then my bloody broadband was off when he was at preschool this morning. I love how you get that slide show of pictures up, it's great way to show them off.
