In Which Marianne Asks Me Questions About Weddings, And I Say Tits and Bacon

I’m not sure if this counts as pimping; it probably does but I just wanted to put this here for my own reminder of how much I love my job.

As a wedding photographer, I’m forever trying to improve my business (even though I’m RUBBISH at the business side of things), and one of the things I want to do is talk to my brides more. So when one of my 2013 brides, Marianne Whooley of Maris World, asked if we could do a Google Hangout, I was all “HELL YEAH!!! LET’S ROCK THIS SHIT!!” as it sounded like the most exciting thing EVER.

She wanted to ask me a ton of questions about wedding photography, how it will work, what I do and loads more, and I just wanted to babble at her and be excited for her wedding in March. (For the record, currently STUPIDLY excited. I have even more kick ass weddings lined up next year, and hers is one of them.)

Sooooo she tracked me down, dragged me off twitter, and made me ramble into a camera for a little bit. It was BRILLIANT. I’d like to do this again soon please and thank you.

Hahahah I know! It's not until people talk to me via Skype, or I see myself on video, that I realise I rarely sit still for more than 5 minutes! Probably explains the relentless energy I had as a cellist…

I loved that the cello is in the background!

You know when you watch it back and you realise you said something really stupid? …getting into bed at the end of the day….FFS where did that come from?
Have made mental note to order bacon butties before it all kicks off ;)

LOL I did love the bit about getting back into bed with them – am sure if there was a photo opportunity Jay would be there.

I cannot agree with you more about not relying on family for the photos. When I got married we thought we'd do it again "properly" later when we had more money to spare. So yes got family to take the photos. We've been married almost 10 years, don't feel the "need" to get married again as it was our wedding, have never even SEEN the photos and heavily regret not getting a photographer in. Those moments are lost and cannot be replaced – so I do hope your vlog has inspired more people to book you.

Good luck on taking over the World.
